Secondo quanto riportato da Collider, l’attore svedese Bill Skarsgård (“IT” di Andy Muschietti) ha abbandonato il set di The Northman, il nuovo film di Robert Eggers (The VVitch, The Lighthouse).
Bill Skarsgård elogia il regista e, come motivo della sua rinuncia, menziona i problemi sul set legati al Covid accennando vagamente anche alla presenza del fratello Alexander nel cast:
“It’s been a scheduling nightmare during COVID. It is what it is. It’s a big shame. Eggers is one of the great filmmakers out there and working with my brother… I don’t want to talk about it, it’s going to make me burst into tears”. Queste le parole dell’attore riportate da Collider.
The Northman è una saga sui vichinghi e sulla vendetta la cui storia si svolge in Islanda all’inizio del X secolo. Il film vanta, nel cast, la presenza di Nicole Kidman (“The Others”), Alexander Skarsgård (“Melancholia”), Anya Taylor-Joy (la protagonista di “The VVitch”), Willem Dafoe (“The Lighthouse”) e della cauntautrice e compositrice islandese Bjork (quest’ultima nel ruolo della strega Slav).
Robert Eggers ha curato anche la sceneggiatura di The Northman insieme al poeta e scrittore islandese Sjón Sigurdsson. Nella crew compare anche Lars Knudsen, il produttore di Midsommar.
